Scholarships for Study in the US, Europe and the UK
1. Inlaks Shivdasani Scholarship
This scholarship is designed exclusively for Indian students who wish to do their post-graduation in international Universities and Colleges. The candidate applying for this scholarship should be below 30 years of age and should hold a proper undergraduate degree from recognized Indian college/University. The Inlaks-Shivdasani Foundation considers only top international universities for offering financial aid to the candidates. The candidates can apply for the scholarships from January to mid-April every year.
2. Erasmus Mundus Scholarships
This European-Union funded scholarship can be availed by both EU and non-EU students. It is granted to the students for Masters and Doctoral programs in European Countries. The grant offered to non-EU students is higher than EU students. The scholarship offers complete wavering off of tuition fees, living expenses, travel costs and insurance costs. There are around 100+ master’s courses and approximately 30 doctoral courses that are directed by this scholarship. The eligible candidates can apply from October to January.
Scholarship for Study in China
Chinese Government Scholarship
The students who wish to study in China or be a part of the Indo-China cultural Exchange program can avail this scholarship. The students can avail the scholarship for both undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses. The students must have a fair knowledge about Chinese culture and geography and should have secured a minimum of 60% marks in their last cleared examination. All the expenses including tuition fees, living and insurance are covered by the Chinese Government Scholarship. The travel expenses are borne by the Indian Government.
Scholarship for Study in the United States
1. Fulbright-Nehru Fellowships
All those students who wish to pursue post-graduation in the United States are eligible to apply for this scholarship. This fellowship is funded by the United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF). The students should have completed their undergraduate degree and should have a minimum of 3 years of work experience. The expenses covered are traveling (economy class), tuition fees, textbooks and a stipend to meet living expenses. The areas of study should include Environmental Science, Urban and Regional Planning, International Legal Studies, Public Administration, Arts and Culture, Gender Studies, Public Health, etc.
2. Tata Scholarship
Tata Scholarship is designed for students who wish to study undergraduate courses at Cornell University, USA. The only eligibility is that the students should be Indian citizens and should have secured a seat at Cornell University. This scholarship is funded by Tata Education and Development Trust for all eight semesters. But for the programs exceeding four years, the students need to bear the expenses on their own. The applications can be filled around October/November and the results are out by December. The trust offers scholarships only to 20 students each year.
3. Stanford Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowship
Stanford Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowship was started to provide an opportunity to study at Stanford Graduate Business School for the deserving poor candidates. It was a joint foundation of Reliance Industries and Stanford University. This program allows only 5 fellowships per year for the MBA.
The Indian Trust Fellowship
The Indian Trust Fellowship is a scholarship program offering a grant of $10,000 to pursue an MBA degree at Booth School of Business (BSB) in Chicago. Only two scholarships are awarded every year.
